28 July 2026 – Visit to Wote Kwa Wote Community Based Organization
I visited Wote Kwa Wote Community Based Organization in Dandora to learn about its role in community empowerment and social development. During the visit, I observed how the organization supports vulnerable groups, particularly persons with disabilities, women and children, through community-based programmes. The visit enhanced my understanding of grassroots development, stakeholder collaboration and the important role played by Community-Based Organizations in addressing local social challenges.
29 July 2026 – Visit to Khoja Bus Station, Nairobi
I visited Khoja Bus Station to observe transport operations and public interaction within Nairobi’s central business district. The visit enabled me to understand the importance of public transport in facilitating economic activities, connecting communities and supporting livelihoods. I also observed the significance of order, communication and cooperation among transport operators, traders and passengers in maintaining efficient service delivery.
30 July 2026 – Visit to Kenya National Archives
I visited the Kenya National Archives to learn about the preservation of Kenya’s historical records and documentary heritage. During the visit, I gained an appreciation of the importance of archives in supporting research, education, governance and national memory. The experience also enhanced my understanding of how historical records contribute to policy development, accountability and the study of Kenya’s political and diplomatic history.
Conclusion
The three field visits broadened my understanding of community development, public service, governance and national heritage. They demonstrated the importance of collaboration among Public Benefit Organizations, government institutions and local communities in promoting sustainable development. The experience strengthened my communication, observation, analytical and reporting skills while reinforcing the practical application of International Relations and Diplomacy in community engagement and national development.
